From the County of Meath, the health of the hag. Not of her but her drink is the reason we brag.

Here's to those who wish us well, as for the rest, they can go to Hell!

Here's to the four hinges of society. May you fight, steal, lie and drink. When you fight, may you fight for your country. When you steal, may you steal away from bad company. When you lie, may you lie at the side of your sweetheart. And when you drink, may you drink with me.

May there be spring enough in your life to outlast the winters; May there be guitars (and drums) enough to lift your spirits whenever you need it; May you be gentle enough to comfort those who are hurting, But revolutionary enough to bring heaven to those who need it now. May there always be a leprechaun near you to bring out laughter and dance and the child in you. And may God always have room enough for you in the palm of his hand! – Donated by Gregory Hicks

On me tod: A lonely lad says, "I'm on me tod," if he's riding solo at the bars that night, or alone in general. Tod Sloan was an American jockey whose mother died when he was young, whose father abandoned him, and whose incredibly successful horse-racing career came to an end when he moved to the U.K. and was ridiculed for his Western riding style. Sloan was always said to be "on his own.". This expression is one of the best-known examples of Cockney rhyming slang, a phrase construction that involves taking a common word and using a rhyming phrase of two or three words to replace it. "On my Tod Sloan" rhymes with "on my own"; but in typical Cockney fashion, the word that completes the rhyme ("Sloan") is omitted.

If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk through my garden forever.

You're not too old when your hair turns gray. You're not to old when your teeth decay. But you'll know you're awaiting that final sleep, When your mind makes promises your body can't keep.
